From 23 April to 3 May 2025, candidates contesting in the General Election 2025, as well as those who are returning unopposed, or their election agents, may apply for Police permits to conduct post-election vehicular processions to thank voters and constituents. Post-election vehicle processions can only be held from 4 May to 10 May 2025 (both dates inclusive) between 7am and 10pm. The Police will levy a fee of $50 for the permit.
Application for the permits can be made at the Compliance Management Offices in the respective Police Divisional Headquarters, corresponding to the electoral divisions as stated in the table below.

Permits will be issued subject to conditions which include the following:
a. The person to whom a permit is granted shall not be absent from the procession without reasonable excuse;
b. The procession shall not deviate from the route/area specified in the permit;
c. No singing, music, gongs, drums or music-producing equipment shall be played during the procession unless authorised by the Police Officer granting the permit;
d. The number of vehicles used for any procession shall not exceed the number specified in the permit;
e. No banners, posters or placards shall be displayed unless authorised by the Police Officer granting the permit;
f. The vehicle(s) shall be kept moving, unless the person(s) tasked with driving / operating / using the vehicle is complying with traffic signals; or complying with the direction(s) of authorised officers / traffic marshals; or undertaking manoeuvres for the safety of himself, herself, or other road users;
g. All vehicles are required to comply with the registration and technical requirements set out in the Road Traffic Act 1961 and its relevant subsidiary legislation. The construction of the vehicle or the construction or nature of the advertisement carried shall not —
- Cause danger, obstruction or annoyance to persons using the roads;
- Obstruct the sight of the driver either to the front or the sides;
- Interfere with the ability of the driver to give the signals required by the Road Traffic Rules; and
- Render such signals wholly or partially invisible to persons using the roads.
h. The vehicle(s) shall be driven in a safe manner with due regard to the safety of all passengers on the vehicle(s);
i. The vehicle(s) shall not be driven at a speed exceeding 15 km/h when carrying any person who is not in a sitting position on the deck of the vehicle(s); and
j. A policy of insurance relating to the vehicle(s) with respect to the death of, or bodily injury to, any person caused by or arising out of the use of the vehicle on a road shall be in force at all times.
The Compliance Management Offices in all Police Divisional Headquarters will be open from 8.30am to 6pm on weekdays. The offices will be closed on Saturday, Sunday, and Public Holidays, including Polling Day. Applications are to be submitted at least one working day before the date of the post-election vehicle procession. Applicants will be notified to collect the permit in-person when it is ready.
