EPISODIC VOLUNTEERING PROGRAMME

Singapore Police Force's (SPF) Episodic Volunteering Programme aims to provide more opportunities for citizens with a diverse range of skills, experience, and knowledge, to join onboard with SPF as our advocates and partners in carrying out SPF's mission.
The opportunities available will provide citizens flexibility to volunteer depending on their availability and skill sets.
Roles and Responsibilities
We have a range of volunteer opportunities, and we work with volunteer applicants to find the ideal assignment. Volunteers may perform duties such as assisting in Police roadshows and Police community engagement events, assisting to design and create infographics, conducting community engagement talks, etc.
Entry Requirements
- Singapore Citizen & Singapore PR
- Aged 18 - 79 years old
- Pre-requisites may be required for some of the assignments (e.g., Language proficiency, Certification, Portfolio, etc.)
- Volunteers must comply with confidentiality requirements and police policies, where applicable.
Training and Deployment
A short briefing or on-the-job training will be provided to our volunteers prior to the start of the engagement to equip our volunteers with the necessary information to succeed in their role.

1. How do I sign up?
- To participate in our volunteering opportunities, you will need to have an account at www.volunteer.gov.sg
- To sign up and register for a volunteer.gov.sg account, you will have to:
- Go to www.volunteer.gov.sg
- Click 'Sign Up' on the top right corner of your screen
- If you are facing any issues with your volunteer.gov.sg account registration, you may contact volunteer.gov.sg customer service at 6622 9268 (Mondays to Fridays, from 8.30am to 8.30pm or Saturdays, from 8.30am to 1pm. Public Holidays are excluded). Otherwise, you may submit an online enquiry at www.volunteer.gov.sg/gettinghelp
2. Who can sign up for the volunteer opportunities under this programme?
- We welcome all who meet the criteria below:
- Singapore Citizen & Singapore PR
- 18 to 79 years old
- Pre-requisites may be required for some of the assignments (e.g., Language proficiencies, Certification, Portfolio, etc.)
- Volunteers must comply with confidentiality requirements and police policies, where applicable
3. What can I, as a volunteer, expect from volunteering under this programme?
- After applying for the role, a SPF Unit Point of Contact (POC) will be in touch for an interview if you meet the requirements. The POC will then inform you if you have been selected to be deployed for the role/tasks.
- You may be required to undergo a mandatory briefing / training prior to the deployment.
4. When and how will I be informed about the outcome of the application?
- Only applicants selected will be contacted directly by the SPF unit POC.
5. If I am not selected for the role that I have applied for, can I be considered for other volunteer roles?
- If you are interested to apply for other roles, you can submit your application to us for consideration.
6. Will I be given any duty allowance or any forms of reimbursement (food and transport) during my volunteer stint?
- No, volunteers under this programme will not be issued with any allowance or reimbursements.
7. Is there a minimum commitment required for this programme?
- We have volunteering opportunities that do not require a minimum commitment from our volunteers. However, some of the volunteer opportunities may require our volunteers to attend a mandatory training or briefing session prior to the deployment.
