Officers from the Commercial Affairs Department and the seven Police Land Divisions conducted a two-week operation between 14 and 27 October 2022. A total of 208 men and 102 women, aged between 16 and 85, are assisting in investigations for their suspected involvement in scams as scammers or money mules. The suspects are believed to be involved in more than 896 cases of scams, comprising mainly e-commerce scams, investment scams, job scams, tech support scams, Government and China Officials impersonation scams and phishing scams, where victims reportedly lost over $5.8 million.
