The Police had arrested a 17 years old youth for his suspected involvement in three cases of sexual harassment.

Between 28 and 31 August 2020, Police received three separate reports of female victims who were harassed by an unknown youth in Pasir Ris.

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of CCTV footages, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the youth and arrested him on 1 September 2020. 

The youth will be charged in court on 2 September 2020 with the offence of insulting the modesty of any person, voyeurism and intentionally causing harassment.

Anyone convicted of the offence of insulting the modesty of any person under Section 377BA of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 will be liable to an imprisonment term which may extend to 1 year, or fine, or both. The offence of voyeurism under Section 377BB of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 carries a punishment of imprisonment for a term which may extend to 2 years, or fine, or caning, or any combination of such punishments. The offence of intentionally causing harassment under Section 3(2) of the Protection from Harassment Act Chapter 256A carries a punishment  of imprisonment for a term not exceeding 6 months, or a fine not exceeding $5,000, or both.
