Singapore Police Force Cybercrime Command Presents Appreciation Awards To Appact Partners For Supporting Police’s Fight Against Cybercrime

On 8 September 2022, the Singapore Police Force CyberCrime Command’s (CCC) presented the Alliance of Public PrivAte Cybercrime sTakeholders (APPACT) Appreciation Awards to 14 private companies to recognise their efforts and partnership with the SPF CCC in capability building and their efforts in detecting and preventing cybercrime. The appreciation ceremony was held during a networking dinner for APPACT partners. Please refer to Annex A for the list of the 14 companies.

APPACT is a dedicated public-private industry platform established by the SPF CCC to exchange information among the partners on suspicious cybercrime activities and latest trends. APPACT comprises partners from various industries, such as social media companies, financial institutions, internet service providers, telecommunications operators, cybersecurity firms and cryptocurrency businesses. The APPACT community has grown in both numbers and strength, from 40 pioneer partners in February 2017 to a current total of 63 partners from various industries working closely with the SPF to tackle cybercrime. 

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Investigation and Intelligence) concurrent Director Criminal Investigation Department, Mr How Kwang Hwee, expressed his appreciation for the efforts and contributions of APPACT partners in supporting SPF in the fight against cybercrime. He said: “Over the years, we have seen successful collaborations between the SPF and our partners, including in the areas of investigations, raising of public awareness on cybercrime and conducting sharing or training for other law enforcement counterparts in the region. The Police are grateful to our APPACT partners for their continued support and we look forward to many more collaborations with the APPACT partners in the fight against cybercrime.”

The Singapore Police Force will continue to work closely with stakeholders and partners to prevent cybercrime as well as educate members of the public on prevailing cybercrime trends.
