Man Arrested For Outrage Of Modesty Within 3 Hours

The Police have arrested a 65-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of outrage of modesty.

On 23 April 2025 at about 10.35am, the Police received a report that a girl was allegedly molested by an unknown man on a bus along Yishun Ring Road.

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from Police cameras and CCTVs, officers from Woodlands Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him within 3 hours.

The man will be charged in court on 25 April 2025 with the offence of outrage of modesty under Section 354(2) of the Penal Code 1871. The offence carries an imprisonment term which may extend to five years, a fine, a caning, or any combination of such punishments.

The Police have zero tolerance towards sexual offenders who threaten the personal safety of the community. Offenders will be dealt with sternly in accordance with the law. Members of the public are urged to remain vigilant and to report to the Police immediately if they witness an incident of or are aware of someone being a victim of outrage of modesty.
