Police have arrested one 39-year-old male suspect who is believed to be involved in several cases of Theft of Bicycle reported in the vicinity of Jurong East and Jurong West housing estates.

On 2 June 2015 at about 8.10pm, Police were informed about a case of Theft of Bicycle at Blk 244 Jurong East St 21. The victim had secured his bicycle at the allocated bicycle stand at about 6.40am and discovered that it was missing when he returned from work.

With the aid of POLCAM, Police managed to obtain the descriptions of the suspect. With this information, officers conducted an intensive ground enquires and managed to establish the identity of the suspect. He was subsequently arrested at Jurong East on 30 June 2015. Five bicycles were recovered and seized as exhibits.

The suspect will be charged in Court on 2 July 2015 for an offence of Theft of Bicycle, which is punishable under Section 379 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. The offence carries a maximum jail term of three years imprisonment, or fine, or both.
