Police have arrested two suspects aged 19 and 21 believed to be involved in a case of housebreaking at a restaurant in Sentosa.
On 2 November 2015 at about 9.55 am, Police received a report of break-in at a restaurant in Sentosa. Through extensive investigative follow up, officers from Clementi Division arrested the suspects in the vicinity of Oxley Road and Pasir Panjang Road on 4 November 2015 at around 11.30 am.
The suspects will be charged in Court on 6 November 2015 for the offence of Housebreaking by Night with common intention under Section 457 r/w 34 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, they face a jail term which may extend to 14 years.
Property owners should adopt the following crime prevention measures against break-ins:
- Ensure that all doors, windows and other openings are properly secured with good quality grills and close-shackled padlocks;
- Keep large sums of cash in banks and expensive jewellery in a safe deposit box;
- Install a burglar alarm, to cover the access points into your premises. Ensure that they are tested periodically and in good working condition.
