Police have arrested a 47-year-old man for suspected involvement in a case of Outrage of Modesty.
On 9 November 2015 at about 7.00pm, a 17-year-old woman was reportedly molested at Jurong West Street 41. Following that, two alert members of the public immediately chased after the suspect. With the assistance of two other public-spirited members of the public, the suspect was swiftly detained. Officers from the Jurong Division responded to the scene after being alerted and arrested the suspect.
Investigations against the suspect are ongoing. The offence of Outrage of Modesty under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 carries a jail term of up to 2 years, or a fine and can also be liable to caning, upon conviction.
