Police have arrested five male youths, aged between 14 and 19, for their suspected involvement in a series of vandalism cases.

From 12 October to 9 November 2015, several reports were received by the police on graffiti found in Woodlands estate. Working on the case, officers from Jurong Division managed to establish the identities of the five suspects and subsequently arrested them. Investigations against all the suspects are ongoing.

Any person convicted for an offence under Section 3 of the Vandalism Act, Chapter 341, shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $2,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 3 years, and shall also subject to sections 325(1) and Section 330(1) of the Criminal Procedure Code, be punished with caning not less than 3 strokes and not more than 8 strokes.
