A major collaboration between Singapore Police Force, the Singapore Civil Defence Force, and Safety & Security Watch Group (SSWG) partners to strengthen the safety and security of Singapore

On 18 November 2015 at about 1 am, Wednesday, Exercise Heartbeat 2015 kicked off with its first phase involving a simulated terror swarm attack at Toa Payoh HDB Hub.

The second phase of the exercise involved a Chemical Agent (CA) attack at One Marina Boulevard as well as an IED explosion and gunman situation at Esplanade Park. Senior Minister of State for Home Affairs and National Development, Mr Desmond Lee visited the exercise at One Marina Boulevard and Esplanade Park. Key personnel from the Home Team departments and representatives from business and financial stakeholders in Marina Bay also attended the exercise.

Exercise Heartbeat is a valuable platform for the Singapore Police Force & Singapore Civil Defence Force to strengthen their response plans together with the business community.

Exercise Heartbeat is also a timely reminder to Singaporeans that we should not take peace and security for granted. We should always be vigilant and report any suspicious activity or person to the authorities.

As part of the exercise, 100 ‘Ready Bags’ were distributed to the participants. The ‘Ready Bag’ contains essential items that will come in handy during an emergency such as a torchlight and first-aid kit.

The final phase of Exercise Heartbeat will take place on 23 November 2015 at Sentosa from 9 am to 12 pm.
