The Police have arrested three men and one woman aged between 25 and 49, for their suspected involvement in syndicated cheating of patrons at the casinos.

On 22 December 2015, Police were alerted to a case of suspected cheating at the Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) casino. Officers from the Casino Crime Investigation Branch (CCIB) of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) responded to the case and placed two suspects under arrest. Through follow-up investigations, two other suspects were swiftly arrested within four hours of the report lodged. Cash and casino chips worth amounting to about S$5,000 were also seized as case exhibits.

From preliminary investigations, the suspects are believed to have committed syndicated cheating in both the RWS and Marina Bay Sands (MBS) casinos on the pretext of helping patrons to place bets.

The four suspects will be charged in Court on 24 December 2015 for the offence of Cheating at Play under Section 172A(1)(b) read with Sec 172A(3) of the Casino Control Act, Chapter 33A. If convicted, they may be sentenced to imprisonment for a term not exceeding seven years or fine not exceeding $150,000 or to both.

Police would like to advise members of public to exercise caution in the casinos and to refrain from allowing others to place bets on your behalf at the gaming tables.
