The Hindu Endowment Board, together with the committees of Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple and Sri Thendayuthapani Temple, is organising Thaipuasam 2016 from Saturday, 23 January 2016 to Monday, 25 January 2016. The ceremony will involve a foot procession that will start at Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple located along Serangoon Road and will end at Sri Thendayuthapani Temple located along Clemenceau Avenue.
To facilitate the event, the following roads and lanes will be closed to vehicular traffic on the following dates and times:

In addition, there will be changes in vehicular traffic direction to the following roads and/or lanes during the stipulated period:
- Vehicular traffic along the carriageway of Race Course Road in the direction of Balestier Road (between Rangoon Road and the car park exit of Block 684 of Race Course Road) shall be reversed from 6.00 am on Saturday, 23 January 2016 to 3.00 am on Monday, 25 January 2016;
- Vehicular traffic along Veerasamy Road (between Kampong Kapor Road and Serangoon Road) shall become a 2-way road from 3.00 pm on Saturday, 23 January 2016 to 3.00 am on Monday, 25 January 2016;
- Vehicular traffic along Hindoo Road (between Kampong Kapor Road and Serangoon Road) shall become a 2-way road from 8.00 pm on Saturday, 23 January 2016 to 3.00 am on Monday, 25 January 2016; and
- Vehicular traffic along Short Street (between McNally Street and Selegie Road), and Oxley Rise (between Clemenceau Avenue and Jalan Rumbia) shall become a 2-way road from 9.00 pm on Saturday, 23 January 2016 to 3.00 am on Monday, 25 January 2016.
During the closure, access will only be granted to police and emergency vehicles.
Parking restrictions along the peripheral roads will be strictly enforced. Vehicles found parking and causing obstruction will be towed.
