The Police have arrested a 43-year-old man believed to be responsible for a series of Shop Theft at supermarkets islandwide.
On 16 January 2016, Police received a report of theft of abalone with similar reports received over the next few days.
Through extensive ground enquiries and investigation, the officers from Clementi Division and Jurong Division managed to establish the identity of the suspect and arrested him along Jurong West Street 61 on 28 January 2016.
The suspect will be charged in the Court on 30 January 2016 with the offence of Shop Theft, under Section 380 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 which carries an imprisonment term which may extend to 7 years and shall also be liable to a fine.
