The Police have arrested a 26-year-old man believed to be involved in a case of Theft of Motorcycle.

On 29 January 2016, at about 1.00 am, the victim lodged a police report informing that his motorcycle was missing from the carpark at Block 174C Hougang Ave 1.

Through extensive ground enquiries and images obtained from Police Cameras (POLCAM), officers from Ang Mo Kio Division arrested the suspect at Block 174D Hougang Ave 1 on the same day within 13 hours of the report.

The suspect will be charged in the Court on the 30 January 2016 with the offence of Theft of Motor Vehicle which carries a maximum jail term of seven years’ imprisonment and shall also be liable to a fine.

Members of public are advised to adopt the following crime prevention measures:

  1. Park your motorcycle in well-lit areas ;
  2. Install an anti-theft alarm for your vehicle;
  3. Use a motorcycle canvas to cover the motorcycle, securing both ends; and
  4. Use additional locking devices such as disc brake locks or install suspension guard.
