The Police have arrested one man and three women aged between 27 and 60, for their suspected involvement in syndicated cheating of patrons at the Marina Bay Sands (MBS) casino.

On 16 December 2015, Police were alerted to a case of suspected cheating at the MBS casino. Officers from the Casino Crime Investigation Branch (CCIB) of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) responded to the case and commenced investigations to establish the identities of the suspects. On 14 March 2016, the four suspects were arrested at Changi International Airport. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects are believed to have committed syndicated cheating in the MBS casino on the pretext of helping patrons to place bets.

The suspects will be charged in Court on 16 March 2016 with the offence of Conspiracy to Commit Cheating under Section 420 read with Section 109 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, they may be sentenced to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 10 years and shall also be liable to a fine.

The Police would like to advise members of public to exercise caution in the casinos and to refrain from allowing others to place bets on your behalf at the gaming tables.
