The Police have arrested 124 suspects in a series of anti-crime operations between 17 March 2016 and 20 March 2016.

The 4-day operation saw 261 officers from Central Division conducting coordinated proactive checks at massage establishments(ME), public entertainment(PE) outlets as well as raiding a common gaming house. These establishments are located at various locations in Tanjong Pagar, Beach Road, Little India, Kampong Bahru, Chinatown, Jalan Besar and Serangoon.

Following the enforcement checks, licensing breaches such as overcrowding and unlicensed massage services were detected at 20 PE outlets and 19 ME outlets. The Police also raided a common gaming house located along Serangoon Road where 15 computers, a CCTV system and cash amounting to $1,075 were seized as case exhibits.

A total of 124 suspects were arrested for their suspected involvement in illegal employment, gambling offences and vice-activities over the course of the 4-day anti-crime blitz. Investigations are ongoing.

Commander of Central Division, Deputy Assistant Commissioner of Police (DAC) Arthur Law commended the officers for their excellent teamwork which led to the successful operation. DAC Arthur added, “The Police will continue to clamp down on sleaze and criminal activities. Those found engaging in illicit activities will be dealt with sternly in accordance to the law”.
