A multi-agency joint enforcement operation was conducted in the vicinity of Yew Tee Industrial Estate on 31 March 2016.
The operation which involved officers from Jurong Division, Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) and Singapore Customs targeted immigration offenders who were also known to be involved in peddling of duty unpaid cigarettes.
During the operation, a total of 8 men were arrested for various immigration offences. A sizeable quantity of 74 cartons, 164 packets and 25 sticks of assorted brands of duty unpaid cigarettes were seized.
Investigations against the 8 suspects are ongoing.
