The Police have arrested a 26-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of theft at a shopping centre located along Bayfront Avenue.
On 4 May 2016 at about 1.40am, the Police received a report that four watches amounting to more than $305,000 were stolen from a watch boutique. Upon receipt of the report, officers from Central Division responded to the case and were informed that an employee was believed to have been involved in the theft. Through extensive follow-up investigations, the man was arrested along Yung Ping Road on 6 May 2016 at about 1.00pm. The four watches were also recovered and seized as case exhibits.
The suspect will be charged in Court on 7 May 2016 with the offence of Theft as Servant under Section 381 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, which carries a punishment of imprisonment for a term which may extend to seven year and also liable to fine.
