The Police have arrested a 53-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of robbery with common intention at Woodlands Centre Road.
On 30 July 2016 at about 8.30pm, a 23-year-old victim was at the bus stop along Woodlands Centre Road when two unknown men approached him and robbed him of his valuables including his mobile phone before fleeing. Acting on information received, officers from the Jurong Division arrested the 53-year-old suspect at Blk 4A Woodlands Centre Road on 9 August 2016. Through further investigations, the officers established the identity of his 58-year-old accomplice. Investigations against the 58-year-old accomplice are ongoing.
The 53-year-old suspect will be charged in Court on 11 August 2016 with the offence of Robbery With Common Intention under Section 392 read with Section 34 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, which carries a punishment of imprisonment for a term of not less than 3 years old and not more than 14 years and caning of not less than 12 strokes.
