The Singapore Police Force will be conducting the second part of our emergency preparedness exercise codenamed ‘Exercise Heartbeat’ on 8 September 2016 at various locations in Bishan. This exercise is an annual anti-terror attack exercise and will involve the community, members of the Safety and Security Watch Group (SSWG), and the Singapore Civil Defence Force. This year’s exercise will highlight the emergency responses of security officers from Bishan Junction 8, staff and transit security officers from Bishan Bus Interchange and members of Bishan-East Thomson Community Emergency & Engagement Committee, as part of SGSecure.
This exercise is made possible by Tanglin Division’s partnership with the Land Transport Authority (LTA), Public Transport Operators from SBS Transit Limited and the commercial building management of Tanglin Division’s SSWG members.
During the exercise, there will be firing of blanks within the bus interchange and vicinity of Junction 8. Members of the public are advised not be alarmed. Public announcements will be made and exercise signage will be displayed at all exercise areas.
