In a ceremony held at Airport Police Division yesterday, four staff from dnata Singapore were commended for their public-spiritedness. With their assistance, the Police arrested a 32-year-old man for forging boarding passes to access various Changi Airport lounges.

 

Since 21 August 2016, the man remained in the transit area for 18 days by using 31 forged mobile boarding passes to enter various lounges in the airport. Due to the staff’s vigilance, the man’s misdeeds was uncovered. The police were alerted and arrested the man shortly. 

 

The man was sentenced to 2 weeks’ imprisonment on 16 September 2016.

 

Commander Airport Police Division, Assistant Commissioner of Police (AC) Cheong Chee Ming, commended the staff for assisting in the arrest. He said, “This case illustrates the close partnership between the Police and the airport community in fighting crime. While the Police conduct regular patrols and security checks, members of the public also play an important role in keeping our airport safe and secure. We thank these staff for being vigilant and assisting the Police to arrest the man.”
