The Police have arrested a 28-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of Outrage of Modesty.

 

On 13 September 2016 at about 5.55pm, the 18-year-old female victim lodged a police report informing that she had been molested by a man while she was on board an MRT train and after she had alighted at Lakeside MRT station. 

 

Through extensive ground enquiries, officers from Jurong Division and the Public Transport Security Command managed to establish the identity of the suspect and arrested him along Jurong West Street 41 on 3 October 2016.

 

The suspect will be charged in Court on 5 October 2016 with the offence of Outrage of Modesty. Anyone convicted for the offence of Outrage of Modesty under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, shall be punished with an imprisonment term which may extend to 2 years, or with caning, or with combination of such punishments.
