The Police have arrested a 19-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of Outrage of Modesty along Hougang Avenue 8.
On 7 October 2016 at about 10.27 pm, the 25-year-old female victim reported to the Police that a man had molested her while she was inside a lift. Officers from Ang Mo Kio Division conducted extensive investigations, including the reviewing of CCTV footages to establish the identity of the suspect. The 19-year-old suspect was subsequently arrested along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 9 on 8 October 2016.
The suspect will be charged in Court on 10 October 2016 with the offence of Outrage of Modesty. Anyone convicted for the offence of Outrage of Modesty under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, shall be punished with an imprisonment term which may extend to 2 years, or with fine, or with caning, or with any combination of such punishments.
