Nine people were arrested following a 14-hour joint enforcement operation from 10 am on 22 November 2016 to 12 am on 23 November 2016.
The operation was jointly led by Ang Mo Kio Division and Central Narcotics Bureau Enforcement “F” Division, and involved officers from the Singapore Civil Defence Force’s (SCDF) 3rd SCDF Division. The officers conducted checks at housing estates in Ang Mo Kio, Sembawang, Yishun, Hougang, Buangkok, and Sengkang, including massage establishments in Ang Mo Kio. Out of the massage establishments that were checked, SCDF found one to have breached Fire Safety Rules and Regulations and will be following up on the necessary action.
A total of four men were arrested for drug-related offences. In addition, five women were arrested for offences under the Women’s Charter. Preliminary investigations revealed that the female suspects advertised their sexual services online and operated within the residential areas. Cash amounting to S$880, seven handphones and one tablet were seized as case exhibits.
Investigations are ongoing.
