On 13 April 2017, the Traffic Police (TP) conducted joint enforcement operations together with the Land Transport Authority (LTA) in the eastern part of Singapore against errant cyclists, power-assisted bicycle (PAB), and personal mobility device (PMD) users. These operations complemented the Safer Roads Campaign 2017 that focused on education and engagement to raise road safety awareness amongst general motorists, pedestrians and cyclists.
During the joint enforcement operations, 79 cyclists, PAB riders and PMD users were stopped and given road safety advisories.
Everyone, including cyclists, PAB and PMD users are encouraged to observe good RoadSense and take all necessary precautions to protect themselves as well as look out for other users when sharing the footpaths, cycling paths and roads. Let us all work together to create a culture of road graciousness in Singapore.
