The Police have arrested a 33-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of snatch theft.

On 6 May 2017 at about 8.36 pm, a 66-year-old man reported that his wallet was snatched by an unknown man along Ang Mo Kio Central.

Upon receipt of the report, officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division conducted extensive ground enquiries and investigative probes.The officers’ efforts paid off when they managed to establish the identity of the suspect and arrested him at Ang Mo Kio Central on 11 May 2017 at about 5.00 pm.

The suspect will be charged in Court on 13 May 2017 with the offence of Snatch Theft under Section 356 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, which is punishable with imprisonment for a term of not less than one year and not more than 7 years, and shall also be liable to caning.
