The Police have arrested a 50-year-old man who is believed to be involved in a case of theft of vehicle.
On 12 April 2017 at about 1.35pm, Police received a report that a motorcycle was stolen from a carpark along Rowell Road. Through extensive ground enquiries, officers from Central Police Division recovered the stolen motorcycle on 14 May 2017 and subsequently arrested the suspect on 17 May 2017.
The man will be charged in Court on 19 May 2017 with the offence of Theft of A Motor Vehicle punishable under Section 379A of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, which carries a punishment of imprisonment for a term which may extend to 7 years, and shall also be liable to a fine.
The Police would like to advise all motorcycle owners to adopt the following crime prevention measures:

Park your motorcycle in well-lit areas;

Install an anti-theft alarm for your motorcycle;

Use a motorcycle canvas to cover the motorcycle, securing both ends;

Use additional locking devices such as disc brake locks or install a suspension guard; and
Remove the ignition key and lock the motorcycle, whenever it is left unattended
