The Police conducted enforcement operations targeting massage establishments in Lavender Street and Jalan Besar from 7 to 8 June 2017.

 

During the operation conducted by Central Police Division, 18 women from five massage establishments were checked. Two women aged 29 and 46, were arrested for offences under the Women’s Charter, Chapter 353. Massage beds, shower cubicles and other paraphernalia were seized from the outlets. Actions will also be taken against the five massage establishments for offences under the Massage Establishments Act. Investigations against the suspects are ongoing

 

Commander of Central Police Division, Assistant Commissioner of Police Arthur Law, said, “The Police take a serious view against massage establishments that operate without a valid licence or contravene the provisions under the Massage Establishments Act. The operation is part of the Police’s ongoing enforcement efforts to clamp down on illicit activities. We will continue our enforcement efforts and all offenders will be dealt with in accordance with the law.”
