The Police have arrested a 27-year-old man for suspected involvement in a case of Theft.

 

On 23 July 2017, the Police received a report regarding a case of theft from a Grab car where cash of about S$450 was stolen. Through extensive enquiries and the aid of images from CCTVs, officers from Jurong Police Division established the identity of the suspect and arrested him on 3 August 2017.

  

Police investigations are ongoing. If convicted for the offence of Theft, he shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 3 years, or with fine, or with both.

 

Taxis and private-hire car drivers are advised to take the following precautionary measures:

 

  • Do not put personal valuables (including mobile phones) at or near the vehicles’ center consoles or places within the easy reach of passengers, &
  • Be vigilant in safeguarding your personal valuables and be wary of anyone who may try to distract you.
