14 men and 5 women were arrested following a 20-hour joint enforcement operation held from 11 to 12 September 2017. Two massage establishment outlets were detected to have breached licensing conditions. One of the two message establishment outlets was also found to have breached the Fire Safety Rules and Regulations.

The operation was jointly led by Ang Mo Kio Police Division and Central Narcotics Bureau Enforcement “F” Division, and supported by officers from the Singapore Civil Defence Force.  The officers conducted checks at residential units in Ang Mo Kio, Hougang, Yishun, Sengkang, Serangoon and Yio Chu Kang as part of ongoing efforts to clamp down on illegal activities in such premises.

A total of 5 men and 1 woman were arrested for drug-related offences.

4 women were arrested under the Provision of the Women’s Charter. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were believed to be advertising sexual service via online websites and operating within the residential areas. Cash amounting to S$100 and 5 handphones were seized for investigations.

In addition, a gambling den operating within a food centre was busted and 9 men were arrested for gambling-related offences under the Common Gaming Houses Act.

Investigations against the suspects are ongoing.
