A 44-year-old woman has been arrested for her suspected involvement in a series of love scams.

On 25 October 2017, a bank staff from a mall at 1 Pasir Ris Central Street   alerted the Police to a potential scam transaction involving $41,000.

Upon arrival, officers from Bedok Police Division established that a 29-year-old victim’s bank account had been used to hold proceeds of crime from a love scam. With extensive probes and investigative enquiries, the 44-year-old suspect was identified and arrested on the same day.

Police investigations are ongoing. If convicted for the offence of dishonestly receiving stolen property, the suspect could be jailed up to five years and fined, or both.
