The Police have arrested a 52-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a series of theft from motor vehicles.

 

In August 2017, the Police received several reports of theft from motor vehicles that occurred in New Upper Changi Road, Bedok South Road and Bedok Central housing estates. Through extensive ground enquiries, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the suspect and arrested him in the vicinity of Bedok Stadium on 27 October 2017

The man will be charged in Court on 28 October 2017 with the offence of Theft under Section 379 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 3 years, or with fine, or with both.

 

The Police would like to remind the public to adopt the following crime prevention to safeguard their vehicle against theft:

  • Park in well-lit areas and

  • Install an anti-theft alarm system;

  • Remove cash-cards and other valuables, such as laptops, cashcards and mobile phones before leaving your vehicle and

  • Wind up all windows and lock all doors of your vehicle, even if it is intended to be left unattended for a short while.
