The Police have arrested a 42-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a series of theft of e-scooters.

 

On 9 November 2017 at about 6.51pm, the Police received a report from a man informing that his e-scooter, which was parked and locked outside Tan Kah Kee MRT Station, had gone missing. Officers from Tanglin Police Division conducted extensive follow-up investigations and arrested the man for theft and suspected drug offences along Sembawang Drive on 14 November 2017. A total of four e-scooters were seized as case exhibits. Based on preliminary investigations, the man is believed to be involved in other similar cases of theft.

 

The man will be charged in court with the offence of Theft on 16 November 2017. Any person found guilty of Theft under section 379 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 3 years, and shall also be liable to a fine.
