The Police have arrested a 61-year-old man for his suspected involvement in two separate cases of Rash Act whereby he allegedly tossed pebbles out of his moving vehicle, causing damages to two stationary ones.

On 16 November 2017 between 10.00pm and about 11.20pm, Police received reports from two vehicle owners stating that the rear windscreens of their vehicles had shattered for unknown reasons. Their vehicles were parked along Foch Road and Desker Road when the incidents happened.

Through extensive on-scene investigations and ground enquiries, officers from Central Police Division managed to establish the identity of the suspect. On 18 November 2017 at 2.20am, the man was arrested along Hougang Avenue 3. A bag of pebbles was found in his vehicle and seized as case exhibits. Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused had tossed pebbles out of his vehicle on several instances other than on 16 November 2017.

Investigations against the man are ongoing. Any person found guilty of committing a rash act which endangers the life or personal safety of others under Section 336(a) of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend up to 6 months, or with fine which may extend to $2,500, or with both.
