The Police have arrested a 22-year-old man for his suspected involvement in two cases of Outrage of Modesty.

 

On 8 November 2017 at about 8.00 am, a 55-year-old woman informed the Police that she had been molested by a man on a bicycle along Thomson Road. Separately, on 11 November 2017 at about 3.37 am, another 46-year-old woman reported that she was also molested by a man on a bicycle along Lorong 8 Toa Payoh.

 

Following the reports, officers from Tanglin Police Division conducted extensive follow-up investigations and arrested the suspect at the vicinity of Ang Mo Kio Ave 3 on 15 November 2017.

 

Investigations against the man are ongoing. Anyone convicted for the offence of Outrage of Modesty under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, shall be punished with an imprisonment term which may extend to 2 years, or with fine or with caning, or with combination of such punishments.
