The Police have arrested a 23-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of Outrage of Modesty.
On 24 January 2018, a 27-year-old woman reported that she was molested inside the lift located at Blk 26 Telok Blangah Crescent. Through extensive ground enquiries, officers from Central Police Division established the identity of the suspect, and arrested him in on 26 January 2018. The suspect is believed to be involved in several similar cases reported in the vicinity of Telok Blangah.
The suspect will be charged in Court on 27 January 2018. Anyone convicted for the offence of Outrage of Modesty under Section 354A(2) of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 is liable for a jail term of not less than 3 years and not more than 10 years and with caning.
