The Police have arrested a 24-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a series of cheating cases.

 

On 6 February 2018, the Police received a report from a local Telco that a man had submitted forged applications to apply for high value mobile phone service plans to get the hand phones that came free with the plans. In total, 5 smart phones worth $5,000 had been delivered to him.

 

Upon receipt of the report, officers from Tanglin Police Division conducted extensive follow-up investigations and arrested the suspect on 7 February 2018 along Bukit Batok West Ave 5

 

The suspect will be charged in Court on 8 February 2018 for the offence of Cheating, under Section 420 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. Any person found guilty for the offence of cheating may be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend up to 10 years, and shall also be liable to a fine.
