The Police have arrested six women aged between 19 and 40, and a 59-year-old man, for employment-related offences during an operation conducted against public entertainment outlets on 25 February 2018.
During the operation, Central Police Division officers conducted a series of enforcement checks on public entertainment outlets located along Beach Road and Tras Street. The operators of the entertainment outlets had allegedly employed foreigners without work permits, an offence under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act.
Besides offences under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act, actions will also be taken against the operators of the public entertainment outlets for contravening their licensing conditions.
The Police will continue to take a tough enforcement stance against such activities.
