Malaysian Man Arrested for Abetting the Offence of Attempting to Leave Singapore Unlawfully

The Police have arrested a 45-year-old Malaysian man, Khoo Kea Leng, for his suspected involvement in connection with abetting a Singaporean man’s attempt to leave Singapore unlawfully at the sea off Pulau Ubin, Singapore Territorial Waters on 21 February 2018. The Singaporean man had been arrested and charged in Court on 22 February 2018.

With the assistance of the Royal Malaysia Police, Khoo was arrested in Malaysia pursuant to a warrant of arrest issued by the Singapore State Courts, and was handed over to SPF’s custody on 26 February 2018. He will be charged in Court on 28 February 2018.

Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police (SAC) Hsu Sin Yun, Commander of the Police Coast Guard, said, “I would like to thank the Royal Malaysia Police (RMP) for their swift efforts in locating and arresting the suspect. The arrest would not have been possible without the close collaboration and strong relationship between the SPF and RMP. The SPF will spare no efforts to hunt down criminals who commit crimes in Singapore. We will work with our foreign law enforcement partners to bring these criminals to justice.
