The Police have arrested a 27-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of attempted mischief by fire at SPC Petrol Kiosk along Tampines Avenue 4.

 

On 28 February 2018, the Police received a report that a man had threatened the staff of the Petrol Kiosk and allegedly tried to start a fire using a lighter and an aerosol can. Through intensive probes and extensive ground enquiries, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 1 March 2018 at the vicinity of Sims Place. 

 

The suspect will be charged in Court on 2 March 2018 with the offence of Attempted Mischief by Fire to a Building under Section 436, read with Section 511 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, the suspect is liable to life imprisonment, or with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 10 years, and shall also be liable to fine.
