Three men, aged between 23 and 32, will be charged in Court on 9 March 2017 for three separate cases of Negligent Act Causing Hurt, committed between July and November 2017.  They had allegedly injured members of the public while riding their electronic scooters.

 

Brief details of the cases are as follows:

  1. On 5 July 2017, an 11-year-old boy was hit by an electronic scooter operated by a 32-year-old man at the void deck of a residential block along Clementi West Street 1.

  1. On 19 October 2017, a 61-year-old woman was hit by an electronic scooter operated by a 26-year-old man at a hawker centre at Yishun Ave 11. The woman was subsequently conveyed to hospital.

  1. On 14 November 2017, an 8-year-old boy was hit by an electronic scooter operated by a 23-year-old man along a pathway along Woodlands Ave 4.

      

     

Under Section 337(b) of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, anyone found guilty shall be liable to imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months, or with fine which may extend to $2,500, or with both.

 

 The police take a serious view of persons who commit dangerous acts that endanger the lives of others, and will not hesitate to take action against these perpetrators. Brief details of the cases are as follows:
