Two Men Arrested for Voluntarily Causing Hurt by Dangerous Weapon in Two Separate Incidents

The police have arrested a 47-year-old man and an 18-year-old man for their suspected involvement in two separate cases of Voluntarily Causing Hurt by Dangerous Weapon.

 

In the first case, the police were alerted to a case of a 62-year-old woman being hit by an unknown man at Blk 861 Woodlands Street 83 on 7 March 2018 at about 9.05am. On the same day at about 1.30pm, the Police were alerted to another case of a 26-year-old man being attacked by an unknown man with a sharp object at a bus-stop along Admiralty Road. The victims in both cases sustained minor injuries. Through extensive ground enquiries and with the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Jurong Police Division established the identity of the suspect on 8 March 2018 and   arrested him at Sims Drive on 14 March 2018. A pair of scissors were seized as case exhibit.

 

In the second case, on 10 March 2018 at about 2.45am, the police received a report that a 25-year-old victim had been stabbed by an unknown man outside an entertainment outlet along Clark Quay. The victim was conveyed to hospital in a critical condition. Through extensive investigations, officers from Tanglin Police Division and the Criminal Investigation Department established the identity of the suspect and arrested him along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 8 on 14 March 2018. A black dagger was recovered and seized as case exhibit.

 

The two suspects will be charged in Court on 16 March 2018 with the offence of Voluntarily Causing Hurt with Dangerous Weapon under section 324 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, he shall be liable for an imprisonment term which may extend to 7 years, or with fine, or with caning, or with any combination of such punishments.
