The police have arrested a 33-year-old man who is believed to be involved in a case of Housebreaking and Theft by Day at Blk 632B Senja Road.

 

On 17 March 2018, the victim lodged a report when she discovered her handbag that was placed near the window was stolen from her unit.

 

Through ground enquiries, officers from Jurong Police Division arrested the suspect on 18 March 2018 along Senja Road.

 

The suspect will be charged in Court on 19 March 2018 with the offence of Housebreaking and Theft by Day under Section 454 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, which carries a maximum imprisonment term of 10 years.

 

The police would like to advise all property owners to adopt the following crime prevention measures:

  • Ensure that all doors, windows and other openings are well secured with good quality grilles and close-shackled padlocks;

  • Secure all doors and window grills before retiring to bed or when leaving your home unattended, even for a short while;

  • Install a burglar alarm, motion sensor lights and/or close circuit surveillance cameras to cover the access points into your premises; and

  • Avoid leaving valuables near openings such as windows and doors.
