The Police have arrested two men, aged 38 and 51 for their suspected involvement in two separate cases of Outraging of Modesty.
For the first case, on 21 March 2018 at about 8.00 p.m., a 31-year-old woman reported that she had been molested by a man while walking along Sungei Road. The 51-year-old man was detained by two Auxiliary Police Officers and was subsequently arrested by the Police.
For the second case, on 22 March 2018 at about 3.00 a.m., an 18-year-old woman reported that she had been molested by a man inside an entertainment outlet located along Raffles Boulevard. Following investigations, the 38-year-old man was arrested on the same day.
Investigations against the two men are ongoing. Anyone convicted for the offence of Outrage of Modesty under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, shall be punished with an imprisonment term which may extend to 2 years, or with fine or with caning, or with combination of such punishments.
