The Police have arrested a 28-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of loanshark harassment.

On 17 May 2018, the Police received a report that a debtor note was left under the door of a residential unit along Pasir Ris Drive 6. Through ground enquiries, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him along Geylang Road on 2 June 2018. One mobile phone was seized as case exhibit.

Police investigations are ongoing. Under the Moneylenders Act (Revised Edition 2010), first time offenders found guilty of loanshark harassment shall be fined not less than $5,000 and not more than $50,000 with mandatory imprisonment of up to 5 years and mandatory caning of up to 6 strokes.
