The Police have arrested two men and eleven women, aged between 23 and 43, for their suspected involvement in vice-related activities.

In a two-day operation which ended on 28 June 2018, officers from Central Police Division conducted a series of raids along Queens Street, Kitchener Road and Race Course Road, resulting in the arrests. Preliminary investigations revealed that the women were believed to be operating from hotels and rented apartments. 

Investigations against the two men and eleven women are ongoing.

Landlords and hotel owners are advised to ensure that tenants do not carry out vice activities in their premises. Unlicensed brothel operators can be given a maximum fine of $10,000 and/or up to five years’ imprisonment. Any person who knowingly lives wholly or in part on the earnings of the prostitution of another person can be jailed up to five years and fined up to $10,000. 

The Police will spare no effort to clamp down on vice activities and those found engaging in such activities will be dealt with sternly in accordance to the law.
