The Police have arrested 15 women and one man, aged between 19 and 49 in a series of enforcement operations against massage establishment and public entertainment outlets on 2 and 3 August 2018.
During the operations against massage establishment outlets along Beach Road, Jalan Besar, Lavender Street, Prinsep Street and Upper Circular Road, three outlets were found to have contravened licensing conditions. Five women aged between 29 and 48 were arrested for offences under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act and the Women’s Charter.
Following checks on public entertainment outlets along South Bridge Road, Keng Cheow Street, Serangoon Road and Jalan Besar, three outlets were found to have contravened public entertainment licensing conditions. Ten women, aged between 19 and 27, were arrested for offences under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act. A 49-year-old man was also arrested for an offence under the Liquor Control Act.
Actions will be taken against the operators for flouting the rules and regulations under the Public Entertainment Act, Liquor Control Act and Massage Establishment Act. The Police takes a serious view of anyone found breaking the law and will continue to take tough enforcement stance against such activities.
