The Police have arrested a 29-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of housebreaking and theft by day at Blk 986C Buangkok Crescent. 

On 2 September 2018 at about 3.50pm, the Police received a report that a residential unit at Blk 986C Buangkok Crescent had been broken into. A television and tablet were discovered to be stolen. 

Through investigation, officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 3 September 2018. 

The suspect will be charged in court on 5 September 2018 with housebreaking and theft by day under Section 454 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, which is punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 10 years. 

The Police would like to advise the public to adopt the following crime prevention measures: 

    • Do not leave your house keys unattended;
    • Ensure that all doors, windows and other openings are well secured before leaving the house;
    • Secure all doors and window grills before retiring to bed or when    leaving your home unattended, even for a short while; and
    • Install a burglar alarm, motion sensor light and/or close circuit surveillance camera to cover the access points into your premises. Ensure that they are tested periodically and in good working condition.
