Enforcement Operations Against Massage Establishments And Vice Activities

The Police have arrested two women, aged 26 and 32, during a series of enforcement operations against massage establishments in Balestier and Outram areas and vice activities at Robertson Quay on 5 and 6 September 2018.

 During the enforcement operations conducted by Tanglin Division, one licensed massage establishment was found to have contravened licensing conditions while another was found to operate without a license. The two women were arrested for offences under the Women’s Charter.

The Police will continue to take strong enforcement actions against unlicensed massage establishments, as well as errant licensed massage establishments.

Landlords and hotel owners are advised to ensure that tenants do not carry out vice activities inside their premises. Unlicensed brothel operators can be given a maximum fine of S$10,000 and/or up to five years’ imprisonment. Any person who knowingly lives wholly or in part on the earnings of the prostitution of another person can be jailed up to five years and fined up to S$10,000.
